Description
This rich and fragrant drinking chocolate is made with cacao beans from Costa Esmeraldas (Emerald Coast) in northern Ecuador, and stone ground with Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, pepper, and turmeric.
60 grams (2 servings)
Real chocolate, real spices
Most hot chocolate mixes are cocoa powder and sugar. Ours is real bean-to-bar chocolate: we roast cacao beans from Costa Esmeraldas on Ecuador’s Emerald Coast, then stone grind them with organic unrefined cane sugar, organic cacao butter and six organic spices — Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, turmeric and black pepper. Because it’s made from whole chocolate rather than powder, it melts into a rich, velvety cup with warm chai spice in every sip.
It’s the same single estate cacao behind our award-winning 70% Costa Esmeraldas bar, so the chocolate holds its own against the spices rather than hiding behind them.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make it?
Each 60 g pack makes two servings. Warm your milk of choice — dairy, oat or any plant-based milk — or water, then whisk in half the pack per mug until it’s fully melted and frothy. Add more or less chocolate to taste.
Is it vegan?
Yes. There’s no dairy in the chocolate itself, and it’s made with gluten-free ingredients. Make it with oat or another plant milk for a fully vegan chai hot chocolate.
Where can I buy it?
Order online and we’ll ship across Canada, or pick some up at our bean-to-bar shop on Granville Island in Vancouver.
