Brown Butter Pandesal


This special release chocolate bar combines one of the Philippines’ most iconic breads – Pandesal – with our award-winning tanned chocolate. Crunchy bits of baked Brown Butter Pandesal, made by our friend and Vancouver-based pastry chef Mel Tolentino of Flourishette, are covered in creamy, caramelly chocolate made from muscovado sugar & cacao from the Philippines, and finished with a pinch of salt.

Found throughout the Philippine archipelago, Pandesal (“Salt Bread”) is a popular bread roll commonly served for breakfast, or as a snack, and is often accompanied by a cup of hot chocolate!

Inspired by 1980s food brands from the Philippines, the cover art was illustrated by our friend and Vancouver-based artist, Isabel Fernandez.
