This limited release batch of award-winning chocolate is made with rare, single estate cacao beans grown in the Northern Philippine region of Jones in the Cagayan Valley province of Isabela. The cacao trees grow alongside jackfruit, bananas, and macopa fruit. The cacao was grown and fermented by our friends Mang Edgar & Kuya Earl and yield a smooth creamy chocolate with notes of black cherry, marzipan and toasted nuts.
The design of the chocolate cover was art directed & illustrated by our friend, New York-based designer & educator, Ana Mengote Baluca. The pattern is inspired by indigenous weaves and textiles of the Gaddang and Yogad speaking people in Isabela.
